In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful | | بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ |
by (the wind) those sent (as horses') mane (in succession), (1) | | وَالْمُرْسَلَاتِ عُرْفًا ﴿1﴾ |
storming tempestuously (2) | | فَالْعَاصِفَاتِ عَصْفًا ﴿2﴾ |
and by the scatterers scattering (rain) (3) | | وَالنَّاشِرَاتِ نَشْرًا ﴿3﴾ |
then the criterion (the verses of koran), separating (4) | | فَالْفَارِقَاتِ فَرْقًا ﴿4﴾ |
and those (angels) dropping, reminding (5) | | فَالْمُلْقِيَاتِ ذِكْرًا ﴿5﴾ |
excusing or warning, (6) | | عُذْرًا أَوْ نُذْرًا ﴿6﴾ |
surely, that which you have been promised is about to fall! (7) | | إِنَّمَا تُوعَدُونَ لَوَاقِعٌ ﴿7﴾ |
when the stars are extinguished, (8) | | فَإِذَا النُّجُومُ طُمِسَتْ ﴿8﴾ |
and when the sky is rent asunder (9) | | وَإِذَا السَّمَاء فُرِجَتْ ﴿9﴾ |
and the mountains scattered, (10) | | وَإِذَا الْجِبَالُ نُسِفَتْ ﴿10﴾ |
and when the messengers' time is set (11) | | وَإِذَا الرُّسُلُ أُقِّتَتْ ﴿11﴾ |
to what day shall they be deferred? (12) | | لِأَيِّ يَوْمٍ أُجِّلَتْ ﴿12﴾ |
upon the day of decision! (13) | | لِيَوْمِ الْفَصْلِ ﴿13﴾ |
would that you knew what the day of decision is! (14) | | وَمَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا يَوْمُ الْفَصْلِ ﴿14﴾ |
woe on that day to those who belied it! (15) | | وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ ﴿15﴾ |
did we not destroy the ancients (16) | | أَلَمْ نُهْلِكِ الْأَوَّلِينَ ﴿16﴾ |
and let the latter follow them? (17) | | ثُمَّ نُتْبِعُهُمُ الْآخِرِينَ ﴿17﴾ |
as such shall we deal with the sinners. (18) | | كَذَلِكَ نَفْعَلُ بِالْمُجْرِمِينَ ﴿18﴾ |
woe on that day to those who belied it! (19) | | وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ ﴿19﴾ |
did we not create you from a weak water, (20) | | أَلَمْ نَخْلُقكُّم مِّن مَّاء مَّهِينٍ ﴿20﴾ |
which we placed within a sure lodging (21) | | فَجَعَلْنَاهُ فِي قَرَارٍ مَّكِينٍ ﴿21﴾ |
for an appointed term? (22) | | إِلَى قَدَرٍ مَّعْلُومٍ ﴿22﴾ |
we determined, how excellent a determiner are we! (23) | | فَقَدَرْنَا فَنِعْمَ الْقَادِرُونَ ﴿23﴾ |
woe on that day to those who belied it! (24) | | وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ ﴿24﴾ |
have we not made the earth a housing (25) | | أَلَمْ نَجْعَلِ الْأَرْضَ كِفَاتًا ﴿25﴾ |
for both the living and the dead? (26) | | أَحْيَاء وَأَمْوَاتًا ﴿26﴾ |
have we not placed high mountains upon it and filled you with sweet water? (27) | | وَجَعَلْنَا فِيهَا رَوَاسِيَ شَامِخَاتٍ وَأَسْقَيْنَاكُم مَّاء فُرَاتًا ﴿27﴾ |
woe on that day to those who belied it! (28) | | وَيْلٌ يوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ ﴿28﴾ |
depart to that which you belied! (29) | | انطَلِقُوا إِلَى مَا كُنتُم بِهِ تُكَذِّبُونَ ﴿29﴾ |
depart into the shadow of three masses, (30) | | انطَلِقُوا إِلَى ظِلٍّ ذِي ثَلَاثِ شُعَبٍ ﴿30﴾ |
wherein there is neither shade, nor freeing from the blazing flames (31) | | لَا ظَلِيلٍ وَلَا يُغْنِي مِنَ اللَّهَبِ ﴿31﴾ |
it throws spits as (high as a huge) palace, (32) | | إِنَّهَا تَرْمِي بِشَرَرٍ كَالْقَصْرِ ﴿32﴾ |
as black camels. (33) | | كَأَنَّهُ جِمَالَتٌ صُفْرٌ ﴿33﴾ |
woe on that day to those who belied it! (34) | | وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ ﴿34﴾ |
this is the day they shall not speak, (35) | | هَذَا يَوْمُ لَا يَنطِقُونَ ﴿35﴾ |
nor shall they be given permission, so that they can apologize. (36) | | وَلَا يُؤْذَنُ لَهُمْ فَيَعْتَذِرُونَ ﴿36﴾ |
woe on that day to those who belied it! (37) | | وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ ﴿37﴾ |
such is the day of decision. we will gather you with the ancients. (38) | | هَذَا يَوْمُ الْفَصْلِ جَمَعْنَاكُمْ وَالْأَوَّلِينَ ﴿38﴾ |
if you are cunning, then try your cunning against me! (39) | | فَإِن كَانَ لَكُمْ كَيْدٌ فَكِيدُونِ ﴿39﴾ |
woe on that day to those who belied it! (40) | | وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ ﴿40﴾ |
indeed, the cautious, shall live amid shades and fountains (41) | | إِنَّ الْمُتَّقِينَ فِي ظِلَالٍ وَعُيُونٍ ﴿41﴾ |
and have such fruits as they desire. (42) | | وَفَوَاكِهَ مِمَّا يَشْتَهُونَ ﴿42﴾ |
(it shall be said to them): 'eat and drink, with a good appetite, for all that you did. ' (43) | | كُلُوا وَاشْرَبُوا هَنِيئًا بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ ﴿43﴾ |
as such we recompense those who did good. (44) | | إِنَّا كَذَلِكَ نَجْزِي الْمُحْسِنينَ ﴿44﴾ |
woe on that day to those who belied it! (45) | | وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ ﴿45﴾ |
'eat and enjoy yourselves a little, for you are sinners! ' (46) | | كُلُوا وَتَمَتَّعُوا قَلِيلًا إِنَّكُم مُّجْرِمُونَ ﴿46﴾ |
woe on that day to those who belied it! (47) | | وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ ﴿47﴾ |
when it is said to them: 'bow yourselves, ' they do not bow. (48) | | وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمُ ارْكَعُوا لَا يَرْكَعُونَ ﴿48﴾ |
woe on that day to those who belied it! (49) | | وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ ﴿49﴾ |
after this, in what discourse will they believe? (50) | | فَبِأَيِّ حَدِيثٍ بَعْدَهُ يُؤْمِنُونَ ﴿50﴾ |
