In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful | | بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ |
say: 'it is revealed to me that a party of jinn listened then said: "we have indeed heard a wonderful koran, (1) | | قُلْ أُوحِيَ إِلَيَّ أَنَّهُ اسْتَمَعَ نَفَرٌ مِّنَ الْجِنِّ فَقَالُوا إِنَّا سَمِعْنَا قُرْآنًا عَجَبًا ﴿1﴾ |
that guides to the right path. we believe in it and we will not associate anyone with our lord. (2) | | يَهْدِي إِلَى الرُّشْدِ فَآمَنَّا بِهِ وَلَن نُّشْرِكَ بِرَبِّنَا أَحَدًا ﴿2﴾ |
he exalted be the majesty of our lord, who has neither taken to himself a wife, nor a son! (3) | | وَأَنَّهُ تَعَالَى جَدُّ رَبِّنَا مَا اتَّخَذَ صَاحِبَةً وَلَا وَلَدًا ﴿3﴾ |
the ignorant fool among us has spoken outrageously against allah, (4) | | وَأَنَّهُ كَانَ يَقُولُ سَفِيهُنَا عَلَى اللَّهِ شَطَطًا ﴿4﴾ |
we never thought that either human or jinn would ever tell a lie against allah!" ' (5) | | وَأَنَّا ظَنَنَّا أَن لَّن تَقُولَ الْإِنسُ وَالْجِنُّ عَلَى اللَّهِ كَذِبًا ﴿5﴾ |
but there were certain men from mankind who would take refuge with certain males from the jinn and they increased them in tyranny. (6) | | وَأَنَّهُ كَانَ رِجَالٌ مِّنَ الْإِنسِ يَعُوذُونَ بِرِجَالٍ مِّنَ الْجِنِّ فَزَادُوهُمْ رَهَقًا ﴿6﴾ |
like you, they thought that allah would never raise the dead. (7) | | وَأَنَّهُمْ ظَنُّوا كَمَا ظَنَنتُمْ أَن لَّن يَبْعَثَ اللَّهُ أَحَدًا ﴿7﴾ |
(the jinn continued saying): "we made our way towards heaven, but we found it filled with stern guards and a flame. (8) | | وَأَنَّا لَمَسْنَا السَّمَاء فَوَجَدْنَاهَا مُلِئَتْ حَرَسًا شَدِيدًا وَشُهُبًا ﴿8﴾ |
there, we would sit to eavesdrop, but now an eavesdropper finds a flame in wait for him. (9) | | وَأَنَّا كُنَّا نَقْعُدُ مِنْهَا مَقَاعِدَ لِلسَّمْعِ فَمَن يَسْتَمِعِ الْآنَ يَجِدْ لَهُ شِهَابًا رَّصَدًا ﴿9﴾ |
and so we do not know whether evil is intended for those on earth, or whether their lord intends to guide them. (10) | | وَأَنَّا لَا نَدْرِي أَشَرٌّ أُرِيدَ بِمَن فِي الْأَرْضِ أَمْ أَرَادَ بِهِمْ رَبُّهُمْ رَشَدًا ﴿10﴾ |
some of us are righteous, but some are otherwise, we are sects that differ. (11) | | وَأَنَّا مِنَّا الصَّالِحُونَ وَمِنَّا دُونَ ذَلِكَ كُنَّا طَرَائِقَ قِدَدًا ﴿11﴾ |
we know that we cannot frustrate allah in the earth, nor can we frustrate him by flight. (12) | | وَأَنَّا ظَنَنَّا أَن لَّن نُّعجِزَ اللَّهَ فِي الْأَرْضِ وَلَن نُّعْجِزَهُ هَرَبًا ﴿12﴾ |
when we heard the guidance, we believed in it, and whosoever believes in his lord shall fear neither shortage nor injustice. (13) | | وَأَنَّا لَمَّا سَمِعْنَا الْهُدَى آمَنَّا بِهِ فَمَن يُؤْمِن بِرَبِّهِ فَلَا يَخَافُ بَخْسًا وَلَا رَهَقًا ﴿13﴾ |
some of us have surrendered (muslims) and some of us have deviated. those who surrendered sought the right path, (14) | | وَأَنَّا مِنَّا الْمُسْلِمُونَ وَمِنَّا الْقَاسِطُونَ فَمَنْ أَسْلَمَ فَأُوْلَئِكَ تَحَرَّوْا رَشَدًا ﴿14﴾ |
but those who have deviated shall become the fuel of gehenna (hell). (15) | | وَأَمَّا الْقَاسِطُونَ فَكَانُوا لِجَهَنَّمَ حَطَبًا ﴿15﴾ |
if they had followed the path we would give to them abundant water to drink, (16) | | وَأَلَّوِ اسْتَقَامُوا عَلَى الطَّرِيقَةِ لَأَسْقَيْنَاهُم مَّاء غَدَقًا ﴿16﴾ |
and tested them with it. and whosoever turns away from his lord's remembrance, he will hurl him into a stern punishment. (17) | | لِنَفْتِنَهُمْ فِيهِ وَمَن يُعْرِضْ عَن ذِكْرِ رَبِّهِ يَسْلُكْهُ عَذَابًا صَعَدًا ﴿17﴾ |
mosques belong to allah, so do not call to anyone else, other than allah. (18) | | وَأَنَّ الْمَسَاجِدَ لِلَّهِ فَلَا تَدْعُوا مَعَ اللَّهِ أَحَدًا ﴿18﴾ |
when the worshiper of allah stood supplicating to him, they swarmed around him (prophet muhammad). (19) | | وَأَنَّهُ لَمَّا قَامَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ يَدْعُوهُ كَادُوا يَكُونُونَ عَلَيْهِ لِبَدًا ﴿19﴾ |
say: 'i supplicate only to my lord and i do not associate any with him. ' (20) | | قُلْ إِنَّمَا أَدْعُو رَبِّي وَلَا أُشْرِكُ بِهِ أَحَدًا ﴿20﴾ |
say: 'indeed, i possess no power over you, either for harm or for guidance. ' (21) | | قُلْ إِنِّي لَا أَمْلِكُ لَكُمْ ضَرًّا وَلَا رَشَدًا ﴿21﴾ |
say: 'none shall protect me from allah, and other than him, i will find no refuge, (22) | | قُلْ إِنِّي لَن يُجِيرَنِي مِنَ اللَّهِ أَحَدٌ وَلَنْ أَجِدَ مِن دُونِهِ مُلْتَحَدًا ﴿22﴾ |
except a deliverance from allah and his messages. he who disobeys allah and his messenger, for him is the fire of gehenna, which he will be in for ever. (23) | | إِلَّا بَلَاغًا مِّنَ اللَّهِ وَرِسَالَاتِهِ وَمَن يَعْصِ اللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُ فَإِنَّ لَهُ نَارَ جَهَنَّمَ خَالِدِينَ فِيهَا أَبَدًا ﴿23﴾ |
when they see that which they were promised they shall know who is weaker in helpers and fewer in numbers. (24) | | حَتَّى إِذَا رَأَوْا مَا يُوعَدُونَ فَسَيَعْلَمُونَ مَنْ أَضْعَفُ نَاصِرًا وَأَقَلُّ عَدَدًا ﴿24﴾ |
say: 'i do not know whether that which you are promised is near, or whether my lord will set for it a time. (25) | | قُلْ إِنْ أَدْرِي أَقَرِيبٌ مَّا تُوعَدُونَ أَمْ يَجْعَلُ لَهُ رَبِّي أَمَدًا ﴿25﴾ |
he is the knower of the unseen and does not disclose his unseen to anyone, (26) | | عَالِمُ الْغَيْبِ فَلَا يُظْهِرُ عَلَى غَيْبِهِ أَحَدًا ﴿26﴾ |
except only to a messenger that he has chosen, and he sends guardians before him and behind him, (27) | | إِلَّا مَنِ ارْتَضَى مِن رَّسُولٍ فَإِنَّهُ يَسْلُكُ مِن بَيْنِ يَدَيْهِ وَمِنْ خَلْفِهِ رَصَدًا ﴿27﴾ |
so that he may know that they have delivered the messages of their lord and he encompasses all that is with them, and he has counted everything in numbers. ' (28) | | لِيَعْلَمَ أَن قَدْ أَبْلَغُوا رِسَالَاتِ رَبِّهِمْ وَأَحَاطَ بِمَا لَدَيْهِمْ وَأَحْصَى كُلَّ شَيْءٍ عَدَدًا ﴿28﴾ |
