In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful | | بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ |
saad, by the holy reading (koran) of the remembrance. (1) | | ص وَالْقُرْآنِ ذِي الذِّكْرِ ﴿1﴾ |
no, the unbelievers exalt in their division. (2) | | بَلِ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا فِي عِزَّةٍ وَشِقَاقٍ ﴿2﴾ |
how many generations have we destroyed before them. they called: 'the time is neither of escape, nor safety. ' (3) | | كَمْ أَهْلَكْنَا مِن قَبْلِهِم مِّن قَرْنٍ فَنَادَوْا وَلَاتَ حِينَ مَنَاصٍ ﴿3﴾ |
they marvel now that, from among themselves, a warner has come to them. the unbelievers say: 'this is a lying sorcerer. (4) | | وَعَجِبُوا أَن جَاءهُم مُّنذِرٌ مِّنْهُمْ وَقَالَ الْكَافِرُونَ هَذَا سَاحِرٌ كَذَّابٌ ﴿4﴾ |
what, has he made the gods one god? this is indeed a wondrous thing. ' (5) | | أَجَعَلَ الْآلِهَةَ إِلَهًا وَاحِدًا إِنَّ هَذَا لَشَيْءٌ عُجَابٌ ﴿5﴾ |
their assembly left (saying): 'go, and be patient to your gods, this is something to be desired. (6) | | وَانطَلَقَ الْمَلَأُ مِنْهُمْ أَنِ امْشُوا وَاصْبِرُوا عَلَى آلِهَتِكُمْ إِنَّ هَذَا لَشَيْءٌ يُرَادُ ﴿6﴾ |
we never heard of this in the former religion. it is nothing but an invention. (7) | | مَا سَمِعْنَا بِهَذَا فِي الْمِلَّةِ الْآخِرَةِ إِنْ هَذَا إِلَّا اخْتِلَاقٌ ﴿7﴾ |
what, out of all of us, has the remembrance been sent down to him (prophet muhammad)? ' no, they are doubtful about my remembrance, no, they have not yet tasted my punishment. (8) | | أَأُنزِلَ عَلَيْهِ الذِّكْرُ مِن بَيْنِنَا بَلْ هُمْ فِي شَكٍّ مِّن ذِكْرِي بَلْ لَمَّا يَذُوقُوا عَذَابِ ﴿8﴾ |
or, have they the treasuries of the mercy of your lord, the almighty, the giving? (9) | | أَمْ عِندَهُمْ خَزَائِنُ رَحْمَةِ رَبِّكَ الْعَزِيزِ الْوَهَّابِ ﴿9﴾ |
or, is theirs the kingdom of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them? then let them ascend by (their) means! (10) | | أَمْ لَهُم مُّلْكُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا فَلْيَرْتَقُوا فِي الْأَسْبَابِ ﴿10﴾ |
