In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful | | بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ |
by the sun and its midmorning, (1) | | وَالشَّمْسِ وَضُحَاهَا ﴿1﴾ |
by the moon, which follows it, (2) | | وَالْقَمَرِ إِذَا تَلَاهَا ﴿2﴾ |
by the day, when it displays it, (3) | | وَالنَّهَارِ إِذَا جَلَّاهَا ﴿3﴾ |
by the night, when it envelops it! (4) | | وَاللَّيْلِ إِذَا يَغْشَاهَا ﴿4﴾ |
by the heaven and who built it, (5) | | وَالسَّمَاء وَمَا بَنَاهَا ﴿5﴾ |
by the earth and who spread it, (6) | | وَالْأَرْضِ وَمَا طَحَاهَا ﴿6﴾ |
by the soul and who shaped it (7) | | وَنَفْسٍ وَمَا سَوَّاهَا ﴿7﴾ |
and inspired it with its sin and its piety, (8) | | فَأَلْهَمَهَا فُجُورَهَا وَتَقْوَاهَا ﴿8﴾ |
prosperous is he who purified it, (9) | | قَدْ أَفْلَحَ مَن زَكَّاهَا ﴿9﴾ |
and failed is he who buried it! (10) | | وَقَدْ خَابَ مَن دَسَّاهَا ﴿10﴾ |
thamood belied in their pride (11) | | كَذَّبَتْ ثَمُودُ بِطَغْوَاهَا ﴿11﴾ |
when the most wicked of them broke forth, (12) | | إِذِ انبَعَثَ أَشْقَاهَا ﴿12﴾ |
the messenger of allah said to them: '( this is) the shecamel of allah, let her drink. ' (13) | | فَقَالَ لَهُمْ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ نَاقَةَ اللَّهِ وَسُقْيَاهَا ﴿13﴾ |
but they belied him, and hamstrung her. so their lord crushed them for their sin and leveled it (their village). (14) | | فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَعَقَرُوهَا فَدَمْدَمَ عَلَيْهِمْ رَبُّهُم بِذَنبِهِمْ فَسَوَّاهَا ﴿14﴾ |
he does not fear the result (of their destruction). (15) | | وَلَا يَخَافُ عُقْبَاهَا ﴿15﴾ |
