In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful | | بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ |
woe to the diminishers, (1) | | وَيْلٌ لِّلْمُطَفِّفِينَ ﴿1﴾ |
who, when people measure for them, take full measure, (2) | | الَّذِينَ إِذَا اكْتَالُواْ عَلَى النَّاسِ يَسْتَوْفُونَ ﴿2﴾ |
but when they measure or weigh for others, they reduce! (3) | | وَإِذَا كَالُوهُمْ أَو وَّزَنُوهُمْ يُخْسِرُونَ ﴿3﴾ |
do they not think that they will be resurrected (4) | | أَلَا يَظُنُّ أُولَئِكَ أَنَّهُم مَّبْعُوثُونَ ﴿4﴾ |
for a great day, (5) | | لِيَوْمٍ عَظِيمٍ ﴿5﴾ |
the day when people will stand before the lord of the worlds? (6) | | يَوْمَ يَقُومُ النَّاسُ لِرَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ ﴿6﴾ |
no indeed, the book of the immoral is in sijjeen. (7) | | كَلَّا إِنَّ كِتَابَ الفُجَّارِ لَفِي سِجِّينٍ ﴿7﴾ |
what could let you know what the sijjeen is! (8) | | وَمَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا سِجِّينٌ ﴿8﴾ |
(it is) a marked book. (9) | | كِتَابٌ مَّرْقُومٌ ﴿9﴾ |
woe on that day to those who belied it, (10) | | وَيْلٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ ﴿10﴾ |
who belied the day of recompense! (11) | | الَّذِينَ يُكَذِّبُونَ بِيَوْمِ الدِّينِ ﴿11﴾ |
none belies it except every guilty sinner. (12) | | وَمَا يُكَذِّبُ بِهِ إِلَّا كُلُّ مُعْتَدٍ أَثِيمٍ ﴿12﴾ |
when our verses are recited to him, he says: 'fictitious tales of the ancients! ' (13) | | إِذَا تُتْلَى عَلَيْهِ آيَاتُنَا قَالَ أَسَاطِيرُ الْأَوَّلِينَ ﴿13﴾ |
no indeed! their own deeds have cast a veil over their hearts. (14) | | كَلَّا بَلْ رَانَ عَلَى قُلُوبِهِم مَّا كَانُوا يَكْسِبُونَ ﴿14﴾ |
no indeed, on that day they shall be veiled from their lord. (15) | | كَلَّا إِنَّهُمْ عَن رَّبِّهِمْ يَوْمَئِذٍ لَّمَحْجُوبُونَ ﴿15﴾ |
then they shall roast in hell, (16) | | ثُمَّ إِنَّهُمْ لَصَالُوا الْجَحِيمِ ﴿16﴾ |
and it will be said to them: 'this is that which you belied! ' (17) | | ثُمَّ يُقَالُ هَذَا الَّذِي كُنتُم بِهِ تُكَذِّبُونَ ﴿17﴾ |
but, the book of the righteous is in the 'illiyoon. (18) | | كَلَّا إِنَّ كِتَابَ الْأَبْرَارِ لَفِي عِلِّيِّينَ ﴿18﴾ |
what could let you know what the 'illiyoon is! (19) | | وَمَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا عِلِّيُّونَ ﴿19﴾ |
(it is) a marked book, (20) | | كِتَابٌ مَّرْقُومٌ ﴿20﴾ |
witnessed by those who are near (to allah). (21) | | يَشْهَدُهُ الْمُقَرَّبُونَ ﴿21﴾ |
the righteous shall indeed be blissful, (22) | | إِنَّ الْأَبْرَارَ لَفِي نَعِيمٍ ﴿22﴾ |
(reclining) upon couches they will gaze, (23) | | عَلَى الْأَرَائِكِ يَنظُرُونَ ﴿23﴾ |
and in their faces you shall know the radiance of bliss. (24) | | تَعْرِفُ فِي وُجُوهِهِمْ نَضْرَةَ النَّعِيمِ ﴿24﴾ |
they shall be given to drink of a wine that is sealed, (25) | | يُسْقَوْنَ مِن رَّحِيقٍ مَّخْتُومٍ ﴿25﴾ |
its seal is musk, for this let the competitors compete; (26) | | خِتَامُهُ مِسْكٌ وَفِي ذَلِكَ فَلْيَتَنَافَسِ الْمُتَنَافِسُونَ ﴿26﴾ |
and its mixture is tasneem, (27) | | وَمِزَاجُهُ مِن تَسْنِيمٍ ﴿27﴾ |
a fountain at which those brought near (to their lord) drink. (28) | | عَيْنًا يَشْرَبُ بِهَا الْمُقَرَّبُونَ ﴿28﴾ |
the sinners laughed at the believers (29) | | إِنَّ الَّذِينَ أَجْرَمُوا كَانُواْ مِنَ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا يَضْحَكُونَ ﴿29﴾ |
and winked at one another as they passed them by. (30) | | وَإِذَا مَرُّواْ بِهِمْ يَتَغَامَزُونَ ﴿30﴾ |
when they returned to their people they returned jesting; (31) | | وَإِذَا انقَلَبُواْ إِلَى أَهْلِهِمُ انقَلَبُواْ فَكِهِينَ ﴿31﴾ |
and when they saw them said: 'these are they who are astray! ' (32) | | وَإِذَا رَأَوْهُمْ قَالُوا إِنَّ هَؤُلَاء لَضَالُّونَ ﴿32﴾ |
yet they were not sent to be their guardians. (33) | | وَمَا أُرْسِلُوا عَلَيْهِمْ حَافِظِينَ ﴿33﴾ |
but on this day the believers will laugh at the unbelievers (34) | | فَالْيَوْمَ الَّذِينَ آمَنُواْ مِنَ الْكُفَّارِ يَضْحَكُونَ ﴿34﴾ |
as they (recline) upon their couches and gaze (around them). (35) | | عَلَى الْأَرَائِكِ يَنظُرُونَ ﴿35﴾ |
have the unbelievers been rewarded for what they did? (36) | | هَلْ ثُوِّبَ الْكُفَّارُ مَا كَانُوا يَفْعَلُونَ ﴿36﴾ |
