Chapter 51: ADH-DHARIYAT (THE WINNOWING WINDS) - Translation

| | | who are heedless in the immersion. (11) | | الَّذِينَ هُمْ فِي غَمْرَةٍ سَاهُونَ ﴿11﴾ | 'when will the day of judgement be? ' they ask. (12) | | يَسْأَلُونَ أَيَّانَ يَوْمُ الدِّينِ ﴿12﴾ | on that day they shall be tried at the fire, (13) | | يَوْمَ هُمْ عَلَى النَّارِ يُفْتَنُونَ ﴿13﴾ | 'taste your trial. this is what you have sought to hasten! ' (14) | | ذُوقُوا فِتْنَتَكُمْ هَذَا الَّذِي كُنتُم بِهِ تَسْتَعْجِلُونَ ﴿14﴾ | the righteous shall live among gardens and fountains, (15) | | إِنَّ الْمُتَّقِينَ فِي جَنَّاتٍ وَعُيُونٍ ﴿15﴾ | receiving what their lord will give them because before this they were gooddoers. (16) | | آخِذِينَ مَا آتَاهُمْ رَبُّهُمْ إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا قَبْلَ ذَلِكَ مُحْسِنِينَ ﴿16﴾ | they slept but a little at night, (17) | | كَانُوا قَلِيلًا مِّنَ اللَّيْلِ مَا يَهْجَعُونَ ﴿17﴾ | and at dawn would ask forgiveness, (18) | | وَبِالْأَسْحَارِ هُمْ يَسْتَغْفِرُونَ ﴿18﴾ | and in their wealth was a share for whosoever asked and for whosoever was prevented. (19) | | وَفِي أَمْوَالِهِمْ حَقٌّ لِّلسَّائِلِ وَالْمَحْرُومِ ﴿19﴾ | for those with sure belief there are signs in the earth, (20) | | وَفِي الْأَرْضِ آيَاتٌ لِّلْمُوقِنِينَ ﴿20﴾ |
