In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful | | بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ |
yaseen. (1) | | يس ﴿1﴾ |
by the wise koran, (2) | | وَالْقُرْآنِ الْحَكِيمِ ﴿2﴾ |
you (prophet muhammad) are truly among the messengers sent (3) | | إِنَّكَ لَمِنَ الْمُرْسَلِينَ ﴿3﴾ |
upon a straight path. (4) | | عَلَى صِرَاطٍ مُّسْتَقِيمٍ ﴿4﴾ |
the sending down of the mighty, the most merciful (5) | | تَنزِيلَ الْعَزِيزِ الرَّحِيمِ ﴿5﴾ |
so that you may warn a people whose fathers were not warned, and so were heedless. (6) | | لِتُنذِرَ قَوْمًا مَّا أُنذِرَ آبَاؤُهُمْ فَهُمْ غَافِلُونَ ﴿6﴾ |
the phrase has become obligatory upon most of them, yet they do not believe. (7) | | لَقَدْ حَقَّ الْقَوْلُ عَلَى أَكْثَرِهِمْ فَهُمْ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ ﴿7﴾ |
we have bound their necks with fetters up to their chin, so that their heads are raised and cannot be lowered. (8) | | إِنَّا جَعَلْنَا فِي أَعْنَاقِهِمْ أَغْلاَلًا فَهِيَ إِلَى الأَذْقَانِ فَهُم مُّقْمَحُونَ ﴿8﴾ |
we have set a barrier before them and a barrier behind them, and, we have covered them so that they do not see. (9) | | وَجَعَلْنَا مِن بَيْنِ أَيْدِيهِمْ سَدًّا وَمِنْ خَلْفِهِمْ سَدًّا فَأَغْشَيْنَاهُمْ فَهُمْ لاَ يُبْصِرُونَ ﴿9﴾ |
it is the same whether you have warned them or you have not warned them, they do not believe. (10) | | وَسَوَاء عَلَيْهِمْ أَأَنذَرْتَهُمْ أَمْ لَمْ تُنذِرْهُمْ لاَ يُؤْمِنُونَ ﴿10﴾ |
you only warn he who follows the remembrance and fears the merciful in the unseen. give to him glad tidings of forgiveness and a generous wage. (11) | | إِنَّمَا تُنذِرُ مَنِ اتَّبَعَ الذِّكْرَ وَخَشِيَ الرَّحْمَن بِالْغَيْبِ فَبَشِّرْهُ بِمَغْفِرَةٍ وَأَجْرٍ كَرِيمٍ ﴿11﴾ |
surely, it is we who revive the dead and write down what they have forwarded and what they have left behind; we have counted everything in a clear book. (12) | | إِنَّا نَحْنُ نُحْيِي الْمَوْتَى وَنَكْتُبُ مَا قَدَّمُوا وَآثَارَهُمْ وَكُلَّ شَيْءٍ أحْصَيْنَاهُ فِي إِمَامٍ مُبِينٍ ﴿12﴾ |
give to them a parable; to the people of the village there came messengers, (13) | | وَاضْرِبْ لَهُم مَّثَلًا أَصْحَابَ الْقَرْيَةِ إِذْ جَاءهَا الْمُرْسَلُونَ ﴿13﴾ |
we sent to them two, but they belied them so we reinforced them with a third. they said: 'we have surely been sent as messengers to you. ' (14) | | إِذْ أَرْسَلْنَا إِلَيْهِمُ اثْنَيْنِ فَكَذَّبُوهُمَا فَعَزَّزْنَا بِثَالِثٍ فَقَالُوا إِنَّا إِلَيْكُم مُّرْسَلُونَ ﴿14﴾ |
but they said: 'you are only humans like ourselves. the merciful has not sent down anything, your speech is but lies! ' (15) | | قَالُوا مَا أَنتُمْ إِلاَّ بَشَرٌ مِّثْلُنَا وَمَا أَنزَلَ الرَّحْمن مِن شَيْءٍ إِنْ أَنتُمْ إِلاَّ تَكْذِبُونَ ﴿15﴾ |
they said: 'our lord knows that we are messengers to you. (16) | | قَالُوا رَبُّنَا يَعْلَمُ إِنَّا إِلَيْكُمْ لَمُرْسَلُونَ ﴿16﴾ |
and it is only for us to deliver a clear message. ' (17) | | وَمَا عَلَيْنَا إِلاَّ الْبَلاَغُ الْمُبِينُ ﴿17﴾ |
they answered: 'we predict evil of you. if you do not desist, we will stone you and a painful punishment from us will befall you. ' (18) | | قَالُوا إِنَّا تَطَيَّرْنَا بِكُمْ لَئِن لَّمْ تَنتَهُوا لَنَرْجُمَنَّكُمْ وَلَيَمَسَّنَّكُم مِّنَّا عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ ﴿18﴾ |
they said: 'your prediction is with you, if you are reminded. surely, you are but a wayward nation. ' (19) | | قَالُوا طَائِرُكُمْ مَعَكُمْ أَئِن ذُكِّرْتُم بَلْ أَنتُمْ قَوْمٌ مُّسْرِفُونَ ﴿19﴾ |
then, a man came running from the furthest part of the village 'my nation, ' he said, 'follow the messengers, (20) | | وَجَاء مِنْ أَقْصَى الْمَدِينَةِ رَجُلٌ يَسْعَى قَالَ يَا قَوْمِ اتَّبِعُوا الْمُرْسَلِينَ ﴿20﴾ |
follow those who ask no wage of you and are rightly guided. (21) | | اتَّبِعُوا مَن لاَّ يَسْأَلُكُمْ أَجْرًا وَهُم مُّهْتَدُونَ ﴿21﴾ |
why should i not worship him who has originated me and to whom you shall all be returned? (22) | | وَمَا لِي لاَ أَعْبُدُ الَّذِي فَطَرَنِي وَإِلَيْهِ تُرْجَعُونَ ﴿22﴾ |
what, shall i take, other than him, gods whose intercession, if the merciful desires to afflict me, cannot help me at all, and they will never save me? (23) | | أَأَتَّخِذُ مِن دُونِهِ آلِهَةً إِن يُرِدْنِ الرَّحْمَن بِضُرٍّ لاَّ تُغْنِ عَنِّي شَفَاعَتُهُمْ شَيْئًا وَلاَ يُنقِذُونِ ﴿23﴾ |
surely, i should then be in clear error. (24) | | إِنِّي إِذًا لَّفِي ضَلاَلٍ مُّبِينٍ ﴿24﴾ |
i believe in your lord, so hear me. ' (25) | | إِنِّي آمَنتُ بِرَبِّكُمْ فَاسْمَعُونِ ﴿25﴾ |
it was said (to him): 'enter paradise, ' and he said: 'would that my people knew (26) | | قِيلَ ادْخُلِ الْجَنَّةَ قَالَ يَا لَيْتَ قَوْمِي يَعْلَمُونَ ﴿26﴾ |
that my lord has forgiven me, and caused me to be amongst the receivers of generosity. ' (27) | | بِمَا غَفَرَ لِي رَبِّي وَجَعَلَنِي مِنَ الْمُكْرَمِينَ ﴿27﴾ |
and we did not send down to his nation after him any army from heaven, neither would we send any down. (28) | | وَمَا أَنزَلْنَا عَلَى قَوْمِهِ مِن بَعْدِهِ مِنْ جُندٍ مِّنَ السَّمَاءِ وَمَا كُنَّا مُنزِلِينَ ﴿28﴾ |
it was only one shout and they were silent, still. (29) | | إِن كَانَتْ إِلاَّ صَيْحَةً وَاحِدَةً فَإِذَا هُمْ خَامِدُونَ ﴿29﴾ |
woe, for those (unbelieving) worshipers! they mocked every messenger that came to them. (30) | | يَا حَسْرَةً عَلَى الْعِبَادِ مَا يَأْتِيهِم مِّن رَّسُولٍ إِلاَّ كَانُوا بِهِ يَسْتَهْزِئُون ﴿30﴾ |
have they not seen how many generations we destroyed before them? they shall never return to them, (31) | | أَلَمْ يَرَوْا كَمْ أَهْلَكْنَا قَبْلَهُم مِّنْ الْقُرُونِ أَنَّهُمْ إِلَيْهِمْ لاَ يَرْجِعُونَ ﴿31﴾ |
all shall be arraigned before us. (32) | | وَإِن كُلٌّ لَّمَّا جَمِيعٌ لَّدَيْنَا مُحْضَرُونَ ﴿32﴾ |
the dead land is a sign for them. we revive it, and from it produce grain from which they eat. (33) | | وَآيَةٌ لَّهُمُ الْأَرْضُ الْمَيْتَةُ أَحْيَيْنَاهَا وَأَخْرَجْنَا مِنْهَا حَبًّا فَمِنْهُ يَأْكُلُونَ ﴿33﴾ |
and there we made gardens of palms and vines, and in it we caused fountains to gush forth, (34) | | وَجَعَلْنَا فِيهَا جَنَّاتٍ مِن نَّخِيلٍ وَأَعْنَابٍ وَفَجَّرْنَا فِيهَا مِنْ الْعُيُونِ ﴿34﴾ |
so that they might eat of its fruit and the labor of their hands. will they not give thanks? (35) | | لِيَأْكُلُوا مِن ثَمَرِهِ وَمَا عَمِلَتْهُ أَيْدِيهِمْ أَفَلَا يَشْكُرُونَ ﴿35﴾ |
exaltations to him who created pairs of all the things the earth produces and of themselves, and that of which they have no knowledge. (36) | | سُبْحَانَ الَّذِي خَلَقَ الْأَزْوَاجَ كُلَّهَا مِمَّا تُنبِتُ الْأَرْضُ وَمِنْ أَنفُسِهِمْ وَمِمَّا لَا يَعْلَمُونَ ﴿36﴾ |
a sign for them is the night. from it we withdraw the day and they are in darkness. (37) | | وَآيَةٌ لَّهُمْ اللَّيْلُ نَسْلَخُ مِنْهُ النَّهَارَ فَإِذَا هُم مُّظْلِمُونَ ﴿37﴾ |
the sun runs to its fixed restingplace; that is the decree of the almighty, the knower. (38) | | وَالشَّمْسُ تَجْرِي لِمُسْتَقَرٍّ لَّهَا ذَلِكَ تَقْدِيرُ الْعَزِيزِ الْعَلِيمِ ﴿38﴾ |
and the moon, we have determined it in phases till it returns like an old palmbranch. (39) | | وَالْقَمَرَ قَدَّرْنَاهُ مَنَازِلَ حَتَّى عَادَ كَالْعُرْجُونِ الْقَدِيمِ ﴿39﴾ |
the sun shall not outstrip the moon, nor shall the night outstrip the day. each is floating in an orbit. (40) | | لَا الشَّمْسُ يَنبَغِي لَهَا أَن تُدْرِكَ الْقَمَرَ وَلَا اللَّيْلُ سَابِقُ النَّهَارِ وَكُلٌّ فِي فَلَكٍ يَسْبَحُونَ ﴿40﴾ |
and a sign for them is that we carried their offspring in the laden ark (of noah). (41) | | وَآيَةٌ لَّهُمْ أَنَّا حَمَلْنَا ذُرِّيَّتَهُمْ فِي الْفُلْكِ الْمَشْحُونِ ﴿41﴾ |
and we have created for them the like of it in which they board. (42) | | وَخَلَقْنَا لَهُم مِّن مِّثْلِهِ مَا يَرْكَبُونَ ﴿42﴾ |
we drown them if we will, then they have none to cry to, nor can they be saved, (43) | | وَإِن نَّشَأْ نُغْرِقْهُمْ فَلَا صَرِيخَ لَهُمْ وَلَا هُمْ يُنقَذُونَ ﴿43﴾ |
except through our mercy and as enjoyment for awhile. (44) | | إِلَّا رَحْمَةً مِّنَّا وَمَتَاعًا إِلَى حِينٍ ﴿44﴾ |
when it is said to them: 'have fear of that which is before you and behind you in order that you find mercy. ' (45) | | وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمُ اتَّقُوا مَا بَيْنَ أَيْدِيكُمْ وَمَا خَلْفَكُمْ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُرْحَمُونَ ﴿45﴾ |
yet there never comes to them any sign of their lord's signs, but they turn away from it. (46) | | وَمَا تَأْتِيهِم مِّنْ آيَةٍ مِّنْ آيَاتِ رَبِّهِمْ إِلَّا كَانُوا عَنْهَا مُعْرِضِينَ ﴿46﴾ |
and when it is said to them: 'spend of that which allah has given you, ' the unbelievers say to the believers: 'are we to feed those whom allah can feed if he chooses? surely, you are only in clear error. ' (47) | | وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمْ أَنفِقُوا مِمَّا رَزَقَكُمْ اللَّهُ قَالَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا لِلَّذِينَ آمَنُوا أَنُطْعِمُ مَن لَّوْ يَشَاءُ اللَّهُ أَطْعَمَهُ إِنْ أَنتُمْ إِلَّا فِي ضَلَالٍ مُّبِينٍ ﴿47﴾ |
they also say: 'when will this promise be, if what you say is true? ' (48) | | وَيَقُولُونَ مَتَى هَذَا الْوَعْدُ إِن كُنتُمْ صَادِقِينَ ﴿48﴾ |
they await but one shout, which will seize them while they dispute. (49) | | مَا يَنظُرُونَ إِلَّا صَيْحَةً وَاحِدَةً تَأْخُذُهُمْ وَهُمْ يَخِصِّمُونَ ﴿49﴾ |
then they will be unable to make a will, nor shall they return to their kinsmen. (50) | | فَلَا يَسْتَطِيعُونَ تَوْصِيَةً وَلَا إِلَى أَهْلِهِمْ يَرْجِعُونَ ﴿50﴾ |
and the horn is blown, and, from the graves they rush forth to their lord. (51) | | وَنُفِخَ فِي الصُّورِ فَإِذَا هُم مِّنَ الْأَجْدَاثِ إِلَى رَبِّهِمْ يَنسِلُونَ ﴿51﴾ |
'woe for us! ' they will say. 'who has roused us from our sleepingplace? this is what the merciful promised; the messengers have spoken the truth! ' (52) | | قَالُوا يَا وَيْلَنَا مَن بَعَثَنَا مِن مَّرْقَدِنَا هَذَا مَا وَعَدَ الرَّحْمَنُ وَصَدَقَ الْمُرْسَلُونَ ﴿52﴾ |
and it is but one shout and they are all arraigned before us. (53) | | إِن كَانَتْ إِلَّا صَيْحَةً وَاحِدَةً فَإِذَا هُمْ جَمِيعٌ لَّدَيْنَا مُحْضَرُونَ ﴿53﴾ |
today, no soul shall be wronged a thing. you shall not be recompensed except according to your deeds. (54) | | فَالْيَوْمَ لَا تُظْلَمُ نَفْسٌ شَيْئًا وَلَا تُجْزَوْنَ إِلَّا مَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ ﴿54﴾ |
indeed, the companions of the garden are this day busy in their rejoicing. (55) | | إِنَّ أَصْحَابَ الْجَنَّةِ الْيَوْمَ فِي شُغُلٍ فَاكِهُونَ ﴿55﴾ |
together with their spouses, they shall recline on couches in the shade. (56) | | هُمْ وَأَزْوَاجُهُمْ فِي ظِلَالٍ عَلَى الْأَرَائِكِ مُتَّكِؤُونَ ﴿56﴾ |
they shall have fruits and all that they call for. (57) | | لَهُمْ فِيهَا فَاكِهَةٌ وَلَهُم مَّا يَدَّعُونَ ﴿57﴾ |
peace, a saying from the most merciful lord. (58) | | سَلَامٌ قَوْلًا مِن رَّبٍّ رَّحِيمٍ ﴿58﴾ |
(and he will say): 'distance yourselves, o sinners, this day. (59) | | وَامْتَازُوا الْيَوْمَ أَيُّهَا الْمُجْرِمُونَ ﴿59﴾ |
children of adam, did i not make a covenant with you, that you should not worship satan he is surely a clear enemy to you (60) | | أَلَمْ أَعْهَدْ إِلَيْكُمْ يَا بَنِي آدَمَ أَن لَّا تَعْبُدُوا الشَّيْطَانَ إِنَّهُ لَكُمْ عَدُوٌّ مُّبِينٌ ﴿60﴾ |
and that you worship me? surely, that is the straight path. (61) | | وَأَنْ اعْبُدُونِي هَذَا صِرَاطٌ مُّسْتَقِيمٌ ﴿61﴾ |
yet he has led many a host of you astray, did you not understand? (62) | | وَلَقَدْ أَضَلَّ مِنكُمْ جِبِلًّا كَثِيرًا أَفَلَمْ تَكُونُوا تَعْقِلُونَ ﴿62﴾ |
this, then is gehenna (hell), that which you were promised. (63) | | هَذِهِ جَهَنَّمُ الَّتِي كُنتُمْ تُوعَدُونَ ﴿63﴾ |
roast well therein this day for you were unbelievers. ' (64) | | اصْلَوْهَا الْيَوْمَ بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَكْفُرُونَ ﴿64﴾ |
this day we set a seal on their mouths and their hands speak to us, and their feet will testify to their earnings. (65) | | الْيَوْمَ نَخْتِمُ عَلَى أَفْوَاهِهِمْ وَتُكَلِّمُنَا أَيْدِيهِمْ وَتَشْهَدُ أَرْجُلُهُمْ بِمَا كَانُوا يَكْسِبُونَ ﴿65﴾ |
had it been our will we would have obliterated their sight so that they raced to the path. but, how would they see? (66) | | وَلَوْ نَشَاء لَطَمَسْنَا عَلَى أَعْيُنِهِمْ فَاسْتَبَقُوا الصِّرَاطَ فَأَنَّى يُبْصِرُونَ ﴿66﴾ |
had it been our will we would have transmuted them (into monkeys, pigs and stones) where they were, so that they could neither go forward nor yet return. (67) | | وَلَوْ نَشَاء لَمَسَخْنَاهُمْ عَلَى مَكَانَتِهِمْ فَمَا اسْتَطَاعُوا مُضِيًّا وَلَا يَرْجِعُونَ ﴿67﴾ |
to whoever we give a long life we make him stoop. do they not understand? (68) | | وَمَنْ نُعَمِّرْهُ نُنَكِّسْهُ فِي الْخَلْقِ أَفَلَا يَعْقِلُونَ ﴿68﴾ |
we have not taught him (prophet muhammad) poetry, nor does it become him. this is only a remembrance and a clear holy reading (koran) (69) | | وَمَا عَلَّمْنَاهُ الشِّعْرَ وَمَا يَنبَغِي لَهُ إِنْ هُوَ إِلَّا ذِكْرٌ وَقُرْآنٌ مُّبِينٌ ﴿69﴾ |
that he may warn the living, and so that judgement may be passed against the unbelievers. (70) | | لِيُنذِرَ مَن كَانَ حَيًّا وَيَحِقَّ الْقَوْلُ عَلَى الْكَافِرِينَ ﴿70﴾ |
have they not seen how we have created for them the cattle they master with our hands? (71) | | أَوَلَمْ يَرَوْا أَنَّا خَلَقْنَا لَهُمْ مِمَّا عَمِلَتْ أَيْدِينَا أَنْعَامًا فَهُمْ لَهَا مَالِكُونَ ﴿71﴾ |
we have subdued these to them, and some of them they ride and some of them they eat; (72) | | وَذَلَّلْنَاهَا لَهُمْ فَمِنْهَا رَكُوبُهُمْ وَمِنْهَا يَأْكُلُونَ ﴿72﴾ |
they also have other uses in them and drinks. what, will they not give thanks! (73) | | وَلَهُمْ فِيهَا مَنَافِعُ وَمَشَارِبُ أَفَلَا يَشْكُرُونَ ﴿73﴾ |
and yet they have taken gods, other than allah, so that they might helped! (74) | | وَاتَّخَذُوا مِن دُونِ اللَّهِ آلِهَةً لَعَلَّهُمْ يُنصَرُونَ ﴿74﴾ |
they cannot help them, for them (the socalled) army are brought (with them to hell). (75) | | لَا يَسْتَطِيعُونَ نَصْرَهُمْ وَهُمْ لَهُمْ جُندٌ مُّحْضَرُونَ ﴿75﴾ |
so do not let their sayings grieve you. surely, we have knowledge of what they hide and all that they reveal. (76) | | فَلَا يَحْزُنكَ قَوْلُهُمْ إِنَّا نَعْلَمُ مَا يُسِرُّونَ وَمَا يُعْلِنُونَ ﴿76﴾ |
has the human not seen how we created him from a drop (of sperm)? yet he is a clear opponent. (77) | | أَوَلَمْ يَرَ الْإِنسَانُ أَنَّا خَلَقْنَاهُ مِن نُّطْفَةٍ فَإِذَا هُوَ خَصِيمٌ مُّبِينٌ ﴿77﴾ |
and he has struck for us a parable, and forgotten his own creation. he asks: 'who will quicken the bones after they have decayed? ' (78) | | وَضَرَبَ لَنَا مَثَلًا وَنَسِيَ خَلْقَهُ قَالَ مَنْ يُحْيِي الْعِظَامَ وَهِيَ رَمِيمٌ ﴿78﴾ |
say: 'he will quicken them who originated them the first time; he has knowledge of every creation; (79) | | قُلْ يُحْيِيهَا الَّذِي أَنشَأَهَا أَوَّلَ مَرَّةٍ وَهُوَ بِكُلِّ خَلْقٍ عَلِيمٌ ﴿79﴾ |
who has made fire for you from the green tree with which you kindle. ' (80) | | الَّذِي جَعَلَ لَكُم مِّنَ الشَّجَرِ الْأَخْضَرِ نَارًا فَإِذَا أَنتُم مِّنْهُ تُوقِدُونَ ﴿80﴾ |
is he who created the heavens and the earth unable to create their like? yes, indeed, he is the creator, the knower. (81) | | أَوَلَيْسَ الَّذِي خَلَقَ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضَ بِقَادِرٍ عَلَى أَنْ يَخْلُقَ مِثْلَهُم بَلَى وَهُوَ الْخَلَّاقُ الْعَلِيمُ ﴿81﴾ |
when he wills a thing, his command is to say to it 'be', and it is! (82) | | إِنَّمَا أَمْرُهُ إِذَا أَرَادَ شَيْئًا أَنْ يَقُولَ لَهُ كُنْ فَيَكُونُ ﴿82﴾ |
exaltations to him in whose hand is the kingdom of all things, and to him you will be returned. (83) | | فَسُبْحَانَ الَّذِي بِيَدِهِ مَلَكُوتُ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ وَإِلَيْهِ تُرْجَعُونَ ﴿83﴾ |
