In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful | | بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ |
have you received the news of the enveloper? (1) | | هَلْ أَتَاكَ حَدِيثُ الْغَاشِيَةِ ﴿1﴾ |
on that day faces shall be humbled, (2) | | وُجُوهٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ خَاشِعَةٌ ﴿2﴾ |
laboring, wornout, (3) | | عَامِلَةٌ نَّاصِبَةٌ ﴿3﴾ |
roasting at a scorching fire (4) | | تَصْلَى نَارًا حَامِيَةً ﴿4﴾ |
that is fueled from a tremendously hot fountain, (5) | | تُسْقَى مِنْ عَيْنٍ آنِيَةٍ ﴿5﴾ |
no food for them except thorny plants (6) | | لَّيْسَ لَهُمْ طَعَامٌ إِلَّا مِن ضَرِيعٍ ﴿6﴾ |
which neither sustains, nor satisfy hunger. (7) | | لَا يُسْمِنُ وَلَا يُغْنِي مِن جُوعٍ ﴿7﴾ |
(whereas other) faces on that day will be joyful, (8) | | وُجُوهٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ نَّاعِمَةٌ ﴿8﴾ |
well pleased with their striving, (9) | | لِسَعْيِهَا رَاضِيَةٌ ﴿9﴾ |
in a garden on high, (10) | | فِي جَنَّةٍ عَالِيَةٍ ﴿10﴾ |
where they will hear no idle talk. (11) | | لَّا تَسْمَعُ فِيهَا لَاغِيَةً ﴿11﴾ |
a gushing fountain shall be there (12) | | فِيهَا عَيْنٌ جَارِيَةٌ ﴿12﴾ |
and raised couches, (13) | | فِيهَا سُرُرٌ مَّرْفُوعَةٌ ﴿13﴾ |
and prepared goblets, (14) | | وَأَكْوَابٌ مَّوْضُوعَةٌ ﴿14﴾ |
and arranged cushions (15) | | وَنَمَارِقُ مَصْفُوفَةٌ ﴿15﴾ |
and outspread carpets. (16) | | وَزَرَابِيُّ مَبْثُوثَةٌ ﴿16﴾ |
what, do they not reflect upon how the camel was created? (17) | | أَفَلَا يَنظُرُونَ إِلَى الْإِبِلِ كَيْفَ خُلِقَتْ ﴿17﴾ |
and how the heaven was raised up, (18) | | وَإِلَى السَّمَاء كَيْفَ رُفِعَتْ ﴿18﴾ |
and how the mountains were firmly fixed? (19) | | وَإِلَى الْجِبَالِ كَيْفَ نُصِبَتْ ﴿19﴾ |
and how the earth was outstretched? (20) | | وَإِلَى الْأَرْضِ كَيْفَ سُطِحَتْ ﴿20﴾ |
therefore remind, you are only a reminder. (21) | | فَذَكِّرْ إِنَّمَا أَنتَ مُذَكِّرٌ ﴿21﴾ |
you are not charged to oversee them. (22) | | لَّسْتَ عَلَيْهِم بِمُصَيْطِرٍ ﴿22﴾ |
as for those who turn their back and disbelieve, (23) | | إِلَّا مَن تَوَلَّى وَكَفَرَ ﴿23﴾ |
allah will punish them with the greatest punishment. (24) | | فَيُعَذِّبُهُ اللَّهُ الْعَذَابَ الْأَكْبَرَ ﴿24﴾ |
indeed, to us they shall return, (25) | | إِنَّ إِلَيْنَا إِيَابَهُمْ ﴿25﴾ |
then upon us shall rest their reckoning. (26) | | ثُمَّ إِنَّ عَلَيْنَا حِسَابَهُمْ ﴿26﴾ |
