| | | In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful | | بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ | have we not expanded your chest for you (prophet muhammad), (1) | | أَلَمْ نَشْرَحْ لَكَ صَدْرَكَ ﴿1﴾ | and relieved you of your burden (2) | | وَوَضَعْنَا عَنكَ وِزْرَكَ ﴿2﴾ | that weighed down your back? (3) | | الَّذِي أَنقَضَ ظَهْرَكَ ﴿3﴾ | have we not raised your remembrance? (4) | | وَرَفَعْنَا لَكَ ذِكْرَكَ ﴿4﴾ | indeed, hardship is followed by ease, (5) | | فَإِنَّ مَعَ الْعُسْرِ يُسْرًا ﴿5﴾ | indeed, hardship is followed by ease! (6) | | إِنَّ مَعَ الْعُسْرِ يُسْرًا ﴿6﴾ | so, when you have finished (your prayer), labor (in supplication), (7) | | فَإِذَا فَرَغْتَ فَانصَبْ ﴿7﴾ | and let your longing be for your lord (in humility). (8) | | وَإِلَى رَبِّكَ فَارْغَبْ ﴿8﴾ |
