Chapter 70: AL-MAARIJ (THE ASCENDING STAIRWAYS) - Translation

|
| | | those are highly honored in the gardens. (35) | | أُوْلَئِكَ فِي جَنَّاتٍ مُّكْرَمُونَ ﴿35﴾ | but what is the matter with the unbelievers, that they strain their glances continuously towards them, (36) | | فَمَالِ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا قِبَلَكَ مُهْطِعِينَ ﴿36﴾ | on the right and on the left in groups? (37) | | عَنِ الْيَمِينِ وَعَنِ الشِّمَالِ عِزِينَ ﴿37﴾ | what, is every one of them eager to be admitted to the garden of bliss? (38) | | أَيَطْمَعُ كُلُّ امْرِئٍ مِّنْهُمْ أَن يُدْخَلَ جَنَّةَ نَعِيمٍ ﴿38﴾ | not at all, for we have created them of what they know. (39) | | كَلَّا إِنَّا خَلَقْنَاهُم مِّمَّا يَعْلَمُونَ ﴿39﴾ | no, i swear by the lord of the easts and the wests that we have the ability (40) | | فَلَا أُقْسِمُ بِرَبِّ الْمَشَارِقِ وَالْمَغَارِبِ إِنَّا لَقَادِرُونَ ﴿40﴾ | to exchange them with others better than they; nothing can outstrip us! (41) | | عَلَى أَن نُّبَدِّلَ خَيْرًا مِّنْهُمْ وَمَا نَحْنُ بِمَسْبُوقِينَ ﴿41﴾ | so leave them alone to plunge and play, until they encounter the day which they are promised; (42) | | فَذَرْهُمْ يَخُوضُوا وَيَلْعَبُوا حَتَّى يُلَاقُوا يَوْمَهُمُ الَّذِي يُوعَدُونَ ﴿42﴾ | the day when they shall rush from their graves, as if they were hurrying to a raised flag, (43) | | يَوْمَ يَخْرُجُونَ مِنَ الْأَجْدَاثِ سِرَاعًا كَأَنَّهُمْ إِلَى نُصُبٍ يُوفِضُونَ ﴿43﴾ | their eyes are humbled and they are covered with humiliation. such is the day that they were promised. (44) | | خَاشِعَةً أَبْصَارُهُمْ تَرْهَقُهُمْ ذِلَّةٌ ذَلِكَ الْيَوْمُ الَّذِي كَانُوا يُوعَدُونَ ﴿44﴾ |
