(11) | | وَكَمْ قَصَمْنَا مِن قَرْيَةٍ كَانَتْ ظَالِمَةً وَأَنشَأْنَا بَعْدَهَا قَوْمًا آخَرِينَ ﴿11﴾ | and when they felt our might they fled from it. (12) | | فَلَمَّا أَحَسُّوا بَأْسَنَا إِذَا هُم مِّنْهَا يَرْكُضُونَ ﴿12﴾ | 'do not run away. return to your luxury that you rejoiced in, and your homes in order that you be questioned! ' (13) | | لَا تَرْكُضُوا وَارْجِعُوا إِلَى مَا أُتْرِفْتُمْ فِيهِ وَمَسَاكِنِكُمْ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُسْأَلُونَ ﴿13﴾ | they said: 'alas for us we were harmdoers! ' (14) | | قَالُوا يَا وَيْلَنَا إِنَّا كُنَّا ظَالِمِينَ ﴿14﴾ | and this they did not stop crying out until we made them stubble, silent, and still. (15) | | فَمَا زَالَت تِّلْكَ دَعْوَاهُمْ حَتَّى جَعَلْنَاهُمْ حَصِيدًا خَامِدِينَ ﴿15﴾ | it was not in play that we created the heavens and the earth and all that lies between them. (16) | | وَمَا خَلَقْنَا السَّمَاء وَالْأَرْضَ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا لَاعِبِينَ ﴿16﴾ | had we wished to take to us an amusement we would have taken it to us from ours had we done so. (17) | | لَوْ أَرَدْنَا أَن نَّتَّخِذَ لَهْوًا لَّاتَّخَذْنَاهُ مِن لَّدُنَّا إِن كُنَّا فَاعِلِينَ ﴿17﴾ | no, we hurl truth at falsehood, and it shall conquer it, and see, falsehood vanishes. woe to you for all you have described. (18) | | بَلْ نَقْذِفُ بِالْحَقِّ عَلَى الْبَاطِلِ فَيَدْمَغُهُ فَإِذَا هُوَ زَاهِقٌ وَلَكُمُ الْوَيْلُ مِمَّا تَصِفُونَ ﴿18﴾ | to him belongs whosoever is in the heavens and the earth. those who are with him are not too proud to worship him, nor are they ever wearied. (19) | | وَلَهُ مَن فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ وَمَنْ عِندَهُ لَا يَسْتَكْبِرُونَ عَنْ عِبَادَتِهِ وَلَا يَسْتَحْسِرُونَ ﴿19﴾ | they never fail to exalt him either at night or in the day. (20) | | يُسَبِّحُونَ اللَّيْلَ وَالنَّهَارَ لَا يَفْتُرُونَ ﴿20﴾ |
