In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful | | بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ |
by the night, when it envelops, (1) | | وَاللَّيْلِ إِذَا يَغْشَى ﴿1﴾ |
and by the day when it unveils. (2) | | وَالنَّهَارِ إِذَا تَجَلَّى ﴿2﴾ |
and by who created the male and female, (3) | | وَمَا خَلَقَ الذَّكَرَ وَالْأُنثَى ﴿3﴾ |
your striving is indeed to different ends! (4) | | إِنَّ سَعْيَكُمْ لَشَتَّى ﴿4﴾ |
for him that gives and fears (allah) (5) | | فَأَمَّا مَن أَعْطَى وَاتَّقَى ﴿5﴾ |
and believes in the finest, (6) | | وَصَدَّقَ بِالْحُسْنَى ﴿6﴾ |
we shall surely ease him to the path of easing; (7) | | فَسَنُيَسِّرُهُ لِلْيُسْرَى ﴿7﴾ |
but for him that is a miser, and sufficed, (8) | | وَأَمَّا مَن بَخِلَ وَاسْتَغْنَى ﴿8﴾ |
and he belied the finest (9) | | وَكَذَّبَ بِالْحُسْنَى ﴿9﴾ |
we shall surely ease for him the path of hardship (the fire). (10) | | فَسَنُيَسِّرُهُ لِلْعُسْرَى ﴿10﴾ |
when he falls (into hell), his wealth will not help him. (11) | | وَمَا يُغْنِي عَنْهُ مَالُهُ إِذَا تَرَدَّى ﴿11﴾ |
indeed, guidance is ours, (12) | | إِنَّ عَلَيْنَا لَلْهُدَى ﴿12﴾ |
and to us belong the last and the first. (13) | | وَإِنَّ لَنَا لَلْآخِرَةَ وَالْأُولَى ﴿13﴾ |
i have now warned you of the blazing fire, (14) | | فَأَنذَرْتُكُمْ نَارًا تَلَظَّى ﴿14﴾ |
in which none shall be roasted except the most wretched sinner, (15) | | لَا يَصْلَاهَا إِلَّا الْأَشْقَى ﴿15﴾ |
who belied and turned away, (16) | | الَّذِي كَذَّبَ وَتَوَلَّى ﴿16﴾ |
and from which the cautious shall be distanced. (17) | | وَسَيُجَنَّبُهَا الْأَتْقَى ﴿17﴾ |
he who gives his wealth to be purified, (18) | | الَّذِي يُؤْتِي مَالَهُ يَتَزَكَّى ﴿18﴾ |
and confers no favor upon anyone for recompense (19) | | وَمَا لِأَحَدٍ عِندَهُ مِن نِّعْمَةٍ تُجْزَى ﴿19﴾ |
seeking only the face of his lord, the most high, (20) | | إِلَّا ابْتِغَاء وَجْهِ رَبِّهِ الْأَعْلَى ﴿20﴾ |
surely, he shall be satisfied. (21) | | وَلَسَوْفَ يَرْضَى ﴿21﴾ |
