In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful | | بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ |
indeed, there came upon the human a period of time when he was an unremembered thing. (1) | | هَلْ أَتَى عَلَى الْإِنسَانِ حِينٌ مِّنَ الدَّهْرِ لَمْ يَكُن شَيْئًا مَّذْكُورًا ﴿1﴾ |
we have created the human from a (sperm) drop, a mixture, testing him; we made him to hear and see. (2) | | إِنَّا خَلَقْنَا الْإِنسَانَ مِن نُّطْفَةٍ أَمْشَاجٍ نَّبْتَلِيهِ فَجَعَلْنَاهُ سَمِيعًا بَصِيرًا ﴿2﴾ |
indeed, we have guided him to the path, he is either grateful or ungrateful. (3) | | إِنَّا هَدَيْنَاهُ السَّبِيلَ إِمَّا شَاكِرًا وَإِمَّا كَفُورًا ﴿3﴾ |
indeed, for the unbelievers we have prepared chains, fetters and a blazing (fire). (4) | | إِنَّا أَعْتَدْنَا لِلْكَافِرِينَ سَلَاسِلَا وَأَغْلَالًا وَسَعِيرًا ﴿4﴾ |
but the righteous shall drink of a goblet mixed with camphor; (5) | | إِنَّ الْأَبْرَارَ يَشْرَبُونَ مِن كَأْسٍ كَانَ مِزَاجُهَا كَافُورًا ﴿5﴾ |
a fountain at which the worshipers of allah drink and make it gush forth abundantly; (6) | | عَيْنًا يَشْرَبُ بِهَا عِبَادُ اللَّهِ يُفَجِّرُونَهَا تَفْجِيرًا ﴿6﴾ |
they who keep their vows and fear a day whose evil is spread; (7) | | يُوفُونَ بِالنَّذْرِ وَيَخَافُونَ يَوْمًا كَانَ شَرُّهُ مُسْتَطِيرًا ﴿7﴾ |
who give food, for the love of him to the needy, the orphan, and the captive, (8) | | وَيُطْعِمُونَ الطَّعَامَ عَلَى حُبِّهِ مِسْكِينًا وَيَتِيمًا وَأَسِيرًا ﴿8﴾ |
(saying): 'we feed you only desirous of the face of allah; we seek of you neither recompense nor thanks, (9) | | إِنَّمَا نُطْعِمُكُمْ لِوَجْهِ اللَّهِ لَا نُرِيدُ مِنكُمْ جَزَاء وَلَا شُكُورًا ﴿9﴾ |
for we fear from our lord a stern, frownful day. ' (10) | | إِنَّا نَخَافُ مِن رَّبِّنَا يَوْمًا عَبُوسًا قَمْطَرِيرًا ﴿10﴾ |
so allah will save them from the evil of that day and has secured for them radiance and joyfulness, (11) | | فَوَقَاهُمُ اللَّهُ شَرَّ ذَلِكَ الْيَوْمِ وَلَقَّاهُمْ نَضْرَةً وَسُرُورًا ﴿11﴾ |
and recompense them for their patience with a garden, and robes of silk. (12) | | وَجَزَاهُم بِمَا صَبَرُوا جَنَّةً وَحَرِيرًا ﴿12﴾ |
reclining there upon couches, they shall see neither the sun nor the moon. (13) | | مُتَّكِئِينَ فِيهَا عَلَى الْأَرَائِكِ لَا يَرَوْنَ فِيهَا شَمْسًا وَلَا زَمْهَرِيرًا ﴿13﴾ |
near them shall be its shades with its clusters hung gently down, (14) | | وَدَانِيَةً عَلَيْهِمْ ظِلَالُهَا وَذُلِّلَتْ قُطُوفُهَا تَذْلِيلًا ﴿14﴾ |
and passed around them shall be silver vessels, and crystal goblets, (15) | | وَيُطَافُ عَلَيْهِم بِآنِيَةٍ مِّن فِضَّةٍ وَأَكْوَابٍ كَانَتْ قَوَارِيرَا ﴿15﴾ |
goblets of silver that they have precisely measured. (16) | | قَوَارِيرَ مِن فِضَّةٍ قَدَّرُوهَا تَقْدِيرًا ﴿16﴾ |
and they shall be given to drink from a cup whose mixture is ginger, (17) | | وَيُسْقَوْنَ فِيهَا كَأْسًا كَانَ مِزَاجُهَا زَنجَبِيلًا ﴿17﴾ |
from a fountain called salsabila. (18) | | عَيْنًا فِيهَا تُسَمَّى سَلْسَبِيلًا ﴿18﴾ |
immortal youths will go about them, when you see them, you would suppose them to be scattered pearls. (19) | | وَيَطُوفُ عَلَيْهِمْ وِلْدَانٌ مُّخَلَّدُونَ إِذَا رَأَيْتَهُمْ حَسِبْتَهُمْ لُؤْلُؤًا مَّنثُورًا ﴿19﴾ |
when you see them, you see bliss, and a great kingdom. (20) | | وَإِذَا رَأَيْتَ ثَمَّ رَأَيْتَ نَعِيمًا وَمُلْكًا كَبِيرًا ﴿20﴾ |
upon them there will be garments of green silk, rich brocade, and they will be adorned with bracelets of silver. their lord will give them a pure beverage to drink. (21) | | عَالِيَهُمْ ثِيَابُ سُندُسٍ خُضْرٌ وَإِسْتَبْرَقٌ وَحُلُّوا أَسَاوِرَ مِن فِضَّةٍ وَسَقَاهُمْ رَبُّهُمْ شَرَابًا طَهُورًا ﴿21﴾ |
'see, this is your recompense, your striving is thanked. ' (22) | | إِنَّ هَذَا كَانَ لَكُمْ جَزَاء وَكَانَ سَعْيُكُم مَّشْكُورًا ﴿22﴾ |
we have indeed, sent down to you the koran, a (clear) sending, (23) | | إِنَّا نَحْنُ نَزَّلْنَا عَلَيْكَ الْقُرْآنَ تَنزِيلًا ﴿23﴾ |
therefore be patient under the judgement of your lord, and do not obey either the sinner or the unbeliever. (24) | | فَاصْبِرْ لِحُكْمِ رَبِّكَ وَلَا تُطِعْ مِنْهُمْ آثِمًا أَوْ كَفُورًا ﴿24﴾ |
and, remember the name of your lord at the dawn and in the evening; (25) | | وَاذْكُرِ اسْمَ رَبِّكَ بُكْرَةً وَأَصِيلًا ﴿25﴾ |
and in the night prostrate to him; and exalt him for a long night. (26) | | وَمِنَ اللَّيْلِ فَاسْجُدْ لَهُ وَسَبِّحْهُ لَيْلًا طَوِيلًا ﴿26﴾ |
indeed, these love the hasty life, and are heedless and leave behind them a heavy day. (27) | | إِنَّ هَؤُلَاء يُحِبُّونَ الْعَاجِلَةَ وَيَذَرُونَ وَرَاءهُمْ يَوْمًا ثَقِيلًا ﴿27﴾ |
we created them, and we strengthened their joints, but, when we will, we shall indeed exchange their likes. (28) | | نَحْنُ خَلَقْنَاهُمْ وَشَدَدْنَا أَسْرَهُمْ وَإِذَا شِئْنَا بَدَّلْنَا أَمْثَالَهُمْ تَبْدِيلًا ﴿28﴾ |
this is indeed a reminder, so that he who will, takes a path to his lord. (29) | | إِنَّ هَذِهِ تَذْكِرَةٌ فَمَن شَاء اتَّخَذَ إِلَى رَبِّهِ سَبِيلًا ﴿29﴾ |
yet you will not unless allah wills; surely, allah is the knower, the wise. (30) | | وَمَا تَشَاؤُونَ إِلَّا أَن يَشَاءَ اللَّهُ إِنَّ اللَّهَ كَانَ عَلِيمًا حَكِيمًا ﴿30﴾ |
he is merciful to whom he will; but, for the harmdoers he has prepared for them a painful punishment. (31) | | يُدْخِلُ مَن يَشَاءُ فِي رَحْمَتِهِ وَالظَّالِمِينَ أَعَدَّ لَهُمْ عَذَابًا أَلِيمًا ﴿31﴾ |
