In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful | | بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ |
qaaf. by the glorious koran! (1) | | ق وَالْقُرْآنِ الْمَجِيدِ ﴿1﴾ |
no, but they marvel that from among themselves a warner has come to them. the unbelievers say (in mockery): 'this is a marvelous thing! (2) | | بَلْ عَجِبُوا أَن جَاءهُمْ مُنذِرٌ مِّنْهُمْ فَقَالَ الْكَافِرُونَ هَذَا شَيْءٌ عَجِيبٌ ﴿2﴾ |
what, when we are dead and turned to dust? that indeed would be an unlikely return! ' (3) | | أَئِذَا مِتْنَا وَكُنَّا تُرَابًا ذَلِكَ رَجْعٌ بَعِيدٌ ﴿3﴾ |
we know all that the earth takes away of them, and a book of records is with us. (4) | | قَدْ عَلِمْنَا مَا تَنقُصُ الْأَرْضُ مِنْهُمْ وَعِندَنَا كِتَابٌ حَفِيظٌ ﴿4﴾ |
rather, they belied the truth when it came to them, and now they are in a state of confusion. (5) | | بَلْ كَذَّبُوا بِالْحَقِّ لَمَّا جَاءهُمْ فَهُمْ فِي أَمْرٍ مَّرِيجٍ ﴿5﴾ |
what, have they never observed the heaven above them, (and seen) how we built and adorned it, leaving no crack? (6) | | أَفَلَمْ يَنظُرُوا إِلَى السَّمَاء فَوْقَهُمْ كَيْفَ بَنَيْنَاهَا وَزَيَّنَّاهَا وَمَا لَهَا مِن فُرُوجٍ ﴿6﴾ |
we spread out the earth and set upon it firm mountains, and we cause every delightful thing to grow in it (7) | | وَالْأَرْضَ مَدَدْنَاهَا وَأَلْقَيْنَا فِيهَا رَوَاسِيَ وَأَنبَتْنَا فِيهَا مِن كُلِّ زَوْجٍ بَهِيجٍ ﴿7﴾ |
as a lesson and a reminder to every penitent worshiper. (8) | | تَبْصِرَةً وَذِكْرَى لِكُلِّ عَبْدٍ مُّنِيبٍ ﴿8﴾ |
we sent down blessed water from the sky with which we caused gardens and the grains of harvest to grow, (9) | | وَنَزَّلْنَا مِنَ السَّمَاءِ مَاءً مُّبَارَكًا فَأَنبَتْنَا بِهِ جَنَّاتٍ وَحَبَّ الْحَصِيدِ ﴿9﴾ |
and tall palmtrees with compact spathes (10) | | وَالنَّخْلَ بَاسِقَاتٍ لَّهَا طَلْعٌ نَّضِيدٌ ﴿10﴾ |
as a provision for the worshipers; thereby we revived a land that was dead. such shall be the emerging. (11) | | رِزْقًا لِّلْعِبَادِ وَأَحْيَيْنَا بِهِ بَلْدَةً مَّيْتًا كَذَلِكَ الْخُرُوجُ ﴿11﴾ |
before them, the nation of noah, the nation of arrass belied and so did thamood (12) | | كَذَّبَتْ قَبْلَهُمْ قَوْمُ نُوحٍ وَأَصْحَابُ الرَّسِّ وَثَمُودُ ﴿12﴾ |
and aad, pharaoh and the brothers of lot, (13) | | وَعَادٌ وَفِرْعَوْنُ وَإِخْوَانُ لُوطٍ ﴿13﴾ |
the dwellers of the thicket and the nation of tubba', all belied their messengers, therefore my threat was realized. (14) | | وَأَصْحَابُ الْأَيْكَةِ وَقَوْمُ تُبَّعٍ كُلٌّ كَذَّبَ الرُّسُلَ فَحَقَّ وَعِيدِ ﴿14﴾ |
what, were we wearied by the first creation? no, indeed; yet they are in doubt about a new creation. (15) | | أَفَعَيِينَا بِالْخَلْقِ الْأَوَّلِ بَلْ هُمْ فِي لَبْسٍ مِّنْ خَلْقٍ جَدِيدٍ ﴿15﴾ |
indeed, we created the human. we know the whisperings of his soul, and are closer to him than the jugular vein. (16) | | وَلَقَدْ خَلَقْنَا الْإِنسَانَ وَنَعْلَمُ مَا تُوَسْوِسُ بِهِ نَفْسُهُ وَنَحْنُ أَقْرَبُ إِلَيْهِ مِنْ حَبْلِ الْوَرِيدِ ﴿16﴾ |
when both receivers (the angels) receive, one on his right, the other on his left, (17) | | إِذْ يَتَلَقَّى الْمُتَلَقِّيَانِ عَنِ الْيَمِينِ وَعَنِ الشِّمَالِ قَعِيدٌ ﴿17﴾ |
whatever phrase he utters, an observer is present. (18) | | مَا يَلْفِظُ مِن قَوْلٍ إِلَّا لَدَيْهِ رَقِيبٌ عَتِيدٌ ﴿18﴾ |
and when the agony of death comes in truth (they will say): 'this is what you have been trying to avoid! ' (19) | | وَجَاءتْ سَكْرَةُ الْمَوْتِ بِالْحَقِّ ذَلِكَ مَا كُنتَ مِنْهُ تَحِيدُ ﴿19﴾ |
and the horn shall be blown; that is the day of threat! (20) | | وَنُفِخَ فِي الصُّورِ ذَلِكَ يَوْمُ الْوَعِيدِ ﴿20﴾ |
each soul shall come with a driver, and a witness. (21) | | وَجَاءتْ كُلُّ نَفْسٍ مَّعَهَا سَائِقٌ وَشَهِيدٌ ﴿21﴾ |
(it will be said): 'of this you have been heedless. therefore, we have now removed your covering. today your sight is sharp. ' (22) | | لَقَدْ كُنتَ فِي غَفْلَةٍ مِّنْ هَذَا فَكَشَفْنَا عَنكَ غِطَاءكَ فَبَصَرُكَ الْيَوْمَ حَدِيدٌ ﴿22﴾ |
and his companion will say: 'this is that which i have present. ' (23) | | وَقَالَ قَرِينُهُ هَذَا مَا لَدَيَّ عَتِيدٌ ﴿23﴾ |
(it will be said): 'indeed, cast into gehenna (hell) every deviating unbeliever, (24) | | أَلْقِيَا فِي جَهَنَّمَ كُلَّ كَفَّارٍ عَنِيدٍ ﴿24﴾ |
forbidder of good, transgressor and doubter, (25) | | مَّنَّاعٍ لِّلْخَيْرِ مُعْتَدٍ مُّرِيبٍ ﴿25﴾ |
who has set up with allah another god. indeed, you two, cast him into the terrible punishment. ' (26) | | الَّذِي جَعَلَ مَعَ اللَّهِ إِلَهًا آخَرَ فَأَلْقِيَاهُ فِي الْعَذَابِ الشَّدِيدِ ﴿26﴾ |
and his companion shall say: 'our lord, i did not make him insolent, he was far astray. ' (27) | | قَالَ قَرِينُهُ رَبَّنَا مَا أَطْغَيْتُهُ وَلَكِن كَانَ فِي ضَلَالٍ بَعِيدٍ ﴿27﴾ |
he (allah) will say: 'do not dispute before me. i sent you a warning beforehand. (28) | | قَالَ لَا تَخْتَصِمُوا لَدَيَّ وَقَدْ قَدَّمْتُ إِلَيْكُم بِالْوَعِيدِ ﴿28﴾ |
the word cannot be changed with me; i do not wrong my worshipers. ' (29) | | مَا يُبَدَّلُ الْقَوْلُ لَدَيَّ وَمَا أَنَا بِظَلَّامٍ لِّلْعَبِيدِ ﴿29﴾ |
on that day we shall ask gehenna: 'are you full? ' and it will answer: 'are there any more? ' (30) | | يَوْمَ نَقُولُ لِجَهَنَّمَ هَلِ امْتَلَأْتِ وَتَقُولُ هَلْ مِن مَّزِيدٍ ﴿30﴾ |
and paradise, which is not far away, shall be brought closer to those who were cautious. (31) | | وَأُزْلِفَتِ الْجَنَّةُ لِلْمُتَّقِينَ غَيْرَ بَعِيدٍ ﴿31﴾ |
(it shall be said to them): 'this is that you were promised. it is for every heeding penitent. (32) | | هَذَا مَا تُوعَدُونَ لِكُلِّ أَوَّابٍ حَفِيظٍ ﴿32﴾ |
whosoever fears the merciful in the unseen, and comes with a contrite heart. (33) | | مَنْ خَشِيَ الرَّحْمَن بِالْغَيْبِ وَجَاء بِقَلْبٍ مُّنِيبٍ ﴿33﴾ |
enter it in peace. this is the day of eternity! ' (34) | | ادْخُلُوهَا بِسَلَامٍ ذَلِكَ يَوْمُ الْخُلُودِ ﴿34﴾ |
there they have all that they desire, and with us is much more. (35) | | لَهُم مَّا يَشَاؤُونَ فِيهَا وَلَدَيْنَا مَزِيدٌ ﴿35﴾ |
how many generations, stronger in might than they have we destroyed before them! they searched the land, could they find any asylum? (36) | | وَكَمْ أَهْلَكْنَا قَبْلَهُم مِّن قَرْنٍ هُمْ أَشَدُّ مِنْهُم بَطْشًا فَنَقَّبُوا فِي الْبِلَادِ هَلْ مِن مَّحِيصٍ ﴿36﴾ |
surely, in this there is a reminder for he who has a heart or listens attentively while witnessing. (37) | | إِنَّ فِي ذَلِكَ لَذِكْرَى لِمَن كَانَ لَهُ قَلْبٌ أَوْ أَلْقَى السَّمْعَ وَهُوَ شَهِيدٌ ﴿37﴾ |
in six days we created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them and no weariness touched us! (38) | | وَلَقَدْ خَلَقْنَا السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضَ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا فِي سِتَّةِ أَيَّامٍ وَمَا مَسَّنَا مِن لُّغُوبٍ ﴿38﴾ |
bear then with patience what they say. exalt with the praise of your lord before sunrise and before sunset. (39) | | فَاصْبِرْ عَلَى مَا يَقُولُونَ وَسَبِّحْ بِحَمْدِ رَبِّكَ قَبْلَ طُلُوعِ الشَّمْسِ وَقَبْلَ الْغُرُوبِ ﴿39﴾ |
and exalt him in the night, and at the ends of the prostrations. (40) | | وَمِنَ اللَّيْلِ فَسَبِّحْهُ وَأَدْبَارَ السُّجُودِ ﴿40﴾ |
listen for the day when the caller will call from a nearby place. (41) | | وَاسْتَمِعْ يَوْمَ يُنَادِ الْمُنَادِ مِن مَّكَانٍ قَرِيبٍ ﴿41﴾ |
on the day when they will hear the shout, in truth that day they will emerge. (42) | | يَوْمَ يَسْمَعُونَ الصَّيْحَةَ بِالْحَقِّ ذَلِكَ يَوْمُ الْخُرُوجِ ﴿42﴾ |
it is we who give life and make to die. to us is the arrival. (43) | | إِنَّا نَحْنُ نُحْيِي وَنُمِيتُ وَإِلَيْنَا الْمَصِيرُ ﴿43﴾ |
upon that day the earth will be rent asunder from around them as they hurry forth that is an easy gathering for us. (44) | | يَوْمَ تَشَقَّقُ الْأَرْضُ عَنْهُمْ سِرَاعًا ذَلِكَ حَشْرٌ عَلَيْنَا يَسِيرٌ ﴿44﴾ |
indeed, we know what they say. you (prophet muhammad) are not a tyrant over them. therefore, remind by the koran whosoever fears (my) threat. (45) | | نَحْنُ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا يَقُولُونَ وَمَا أَنتَ عَلَيْهِم بِجَبَّارٍ فَذَكِّرْ بِالْقُرْآنِ مَن يَخَافُ وَعِيدِ ﴿45﴾ |
