In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful | | بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ |
aliflaammeem. (1) | | الم ﴿1﴾ |
do people think that they are left alone by saying: 'we are believers, ' and will not be tried? (2) | | أَحَسِبَ النَّاسُ أَن يُتْرَكُوا أَن يَقُولُوا آمَنَّا وَهُمْ لَا يُفْتَنُونَ ﴿2﴾ |
we tried those who have gone before them. allah knows those who are truthful and those who lie. (3) | | وَلَقَدْ فَتَنَّا الَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ فَلَيَعْلَمَنَّ اللَّهُ الَّذِينَ صَدَقُوا وَلَيَعْلَمَنَّ الْكَاذِبِينَ ﴿3﴾ |
or do the evildoers think that they will outstrip us? how evil is their judgment! (4) | | أَمْ حَسِبَ الَّذِينَ يَعْمَلُونَ السَّيِّئَاتِ أَن يَسْبِقُونَا سَاء مَا يَحْكُمُونَ ﴿4﴾ |
he who hopes to meet allah (must know) that the term of allah is coming. he is the hearer, the knower. (5) | | مَن كَانَ يَرْجُو لِقَاء اللَّهِ فَإِنَّ أَجَلَ اللَّهِ لَآتٍ وَهُوَ السَّمِيعُ الْعَلِيمُ ﴿5﴾ |
he who strives, strives for himself. allah is the rich, independent of the worlds. (6) | | وَمَن جَاهَدَ فَإِنَّمَا يُجَاهِدُ لِنَفْسِهِ إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَغَنِيٌّ عَنِ الْعَالَمِينَ ﴿6﴾ |
as for those who believe and do good works, we shall acquit them of their sins, and recompense them with the best for what they were doing. (7) | | وَالَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ لَنُكَفِّرَنَّ عَنْهُمْ سَيِّئَاتِهِمْ وَلَنَجْزِيَنَّهُمْ أَحْسَنَ الَّذِي كَانُوا يَعْمَلُونَ ﴿7﴾ |
we have charged the human to be kind to his parents. but if they bid you to associate with me that which you have no knowledge, do not obey them. to me you will return, and i shall inform you of all that you have done. (8) | | وَوَصَّيْنَا الْإِنسَانَ بِوَالِدَيْهِ حُسْنًا وَإِن جَاهَدَاكَ لِتُشْرِكَ بِي مَا لَيْسَ لَكَ بِهِ عِلْمٌ فَلَا تُطِعْهُمَا إِلَيَّ مَرْجِعُكُمْ فَأُنَبِّئُكُم بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ ﴿8﴾ |
those who believe and do good works shall be admitted among the righteous. (9) | | وَالَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ لَنُدْخِلَنَّهُمْ فِي الصَّالِحِينَ ﴿9﴾ |
there are some people who say: 'we believe in allah, ' yet when such is hurt in the cause of allah, he makes the persecution of people as though it were the punishment of allah. but then if help comes from his lord, he will say: 'we were with you. ' does allah not know what is in the (people's) chests of the worlds? (10) | | وَمِنَ النَّاسِ مَن يَقُولُ آمَنَّا بِاللَّهِ فَإِذَا أُوذِيَ فِي اللَّهِ جَعَلَ فِتْنَةَ النَّاسِ كَعَذَابِ اللَّهِ وَلَئِن جَاء نَصْرٌ مِّن رَّبِّكَ لَيَقُولُنَّ إِنَّا كُنَّا مَعَكُمْ أَوَلَيْسَ اللَّهُ بِأَعْلَمَ بِمَا فِي صُدُورِ الْعَالَمِينَ ﴿10﴾ |
