Chapter 98: AL-BAYYINA (THE CLEAR PROOF) - Translation
 
   

In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ

the unbelievers among the people of the book and the idolaters would never desist until the clear proof came to them. (1)

 

لَمْ يَكُنِ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا مِنْ أَهْلِ الْكِتَابِ وَالْمُشْرِكِينَ مُنفَكِّينَ حَتَّى تَأْتِيَهُمُ الْبَيِّنَةُ ﴿1﴾

a messenger from allah reciting purified pages (2)

 

رَسُولٌ مِّنَ اللَّهِ يَتْلُو صُحُفًا مُّطَهَّرَةً ﴿2﴾

in which there are valuable books. (3)

 

فِيهَا كُتُبٌ قَيِّمَةٌ ﴿3﴾

those to whom the book was given did not divide themselves until the clear proof came to them. (4)

 

وَمَا تَفَرَّقَ الَّذِينَ أُوتُوا الْكِتَابَ إِلَّا مِن بَعْدِ مَا جَاءتْهُمُ الْبَيِّنَةُ ﴿4﴾

yet they were ordered to worship allah alone, making the religion his sincerely, upright, and to establish their prayers and to pay the obligatory charity. that is indeed the religion of straightness. (5)

 

وَمَا أُمِرُوا إِلَّا لِيَعْبُدُوا اللَّهَ مُخْلِصِينَ لَهُ الدِّينَ حُنَفَاء وَيُقِيمُوا الصَّلَاةَ وَيُؤْتُوا الزَّكَاةَ وَذَلِكَ دِينُ الْقَيِّمَةِ ﴿5﴾

the unbelievers among the people of the book and the idolaters shall be for ever in the fire of gehenna (hell). they are the worst of all creatures. (6)

 

إِنَّ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا مِنْ أَهْلِ الْكِتَابِ وَالْمُشْرِكِينَ فِي نَارِ جَهَنَّمَ خَالِدِينَ فِيهَا أُوْلَئِكَ هُمْ شَرُّ الْبَرِيَّةِ ﴿6﴾

but those who believe and do good deeds are the best of all creatures. (7)

 

إِنَّ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ أُوْلَئِكَ هُمْ خَيْرُ الْبَرِيَّةِ ﴿7﴾

their recompense is with their lord; gardens of eden, underneath which rivers flow, where they shall live for ever. allah is wellpleased with them, and they are wellpleased with him. that is for he who fears his lord! (8)

 

جَزَاؤُهُمْ عِندَ رَبِّهِمْ جَنَّاتُ عَدْنٍ تَجْرِي مِن تَحْتِهَا الْأَنْهَارُ خَالِدِينَ فِيهَا أَبَدًا رَّضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمْ وَرَضُوا عَنْهُ ذَلِكَ لِمَنْ خَشِيَ رَبَّهُ ﴿8﴾
