| | | In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful | | بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ | we sent this (the holy koran) down on the night of honor. (1) | | إِنَّا أَنزَلْنَاهُ فِي لَيْلَةِ الْقَدْرِ ﴿1﴾ | what could let you know what the night of honor is! (2) | | وَمَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا لَيْلَةُ الْقَدْرِ ﴿2﴾ | the night of honor is better than a thousand months, (3) | | لَيْلَةُ الْقَدْرِ خَيْرٌ مِّنْ أَلْفِ شَهْرٍ ﴿3﴾ | in it the angels and the spirit (gabriel) descend by the permission of their lord upon every command. (4) | | تَنَزَّلُ الْمَلَائِكَةُ وَالرُّوحُ فِيهَا بِإِذْنِ رَبِّهِم مِّن كُلِّ أَمْرٍ ﴿4﴾ | peace it is, till the break of dawn. (5) | | سَلَامٌ هِيَ حَتَّى مَطْلَعِ الْفَجْرِ ﴿5﴾ |
