| | | In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful | | بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ | by the sky, and by the nightly comer! (1) | | وَالسَّمَاء وَالطَّارِقِ ﴿1﴾ | what could let you know what the nightly comer is! (2) | | وَمَا أَدْرَاكَ مَا الطَّارِقُ ﴿2﴾ | (it is) the piercing star. (3) | | النَّجْمُ الثَّاقِبُ ﴿3﴾ | for every soul there is a watcher. (4) | | إِن كُلُّ نَفْسٍ لَّمَّا عَلَيْهَا حَافِظٌ ﴿4﴾ | let the human reflect of what he is created. (5) | | فَلْيَنظُرِ الْإِنسَانُ مِمَّ خُلِقَ ﴿5﴾ | he was created from ejaculated water (6) | | خُلِقَ مِن مَّاء دَافِقٍ ﴿6﴾ | that issues from between the loins and the ribs. (7) | | يَخْرُجُ مِن بَيْنِ الصُّلْبِ وَالتَّرَائِبِ ﴿7﴾ | surely, he is able to bring him back, (8) | | إِنَّهُ عَلَى رَجْعِهِ لَقَادِرٌ ﴿8﴾ | on the day when consciences are examined, (9) | | يَوْمَ تُبْلَى السَّرَائِرُ ﴿9﴾ | when he will be helpless, with no supporter. (10) | | فَمَا لَهُ مِن قُوَّةٍ وَلَا نَاصِرٍ ﴿10﴾ |
