| | | In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful | | بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ | by the star when it plunges, (1) | | وَالنَّجْمِ إِذَا هَوَى ﴿1﴾ | your companion is neither astray, neither errs, (2) | | مَا ضَلَّ صَاحِبُكُمْ وَمَا غَوَى ﴿2﴾ | nor does he speak out of desire. (3) | | وَمَا يَنطِقُ عَنِ الْهَوَى ﴿3﴾ | indeed it is not except a revelation which is revealed, (4) | | إِنْ هُوَ إِلَّا وَحْيٌ يُوحَى ﴿4﴾ | taught by one who is stern in power. (5) | | عَلَّمَهُ شَدِيدُ الْقُوَى ﴿5﴾ | of might, he (gabriel) stood firm (6) | | ذُو مِرَّةٍ فَاسْتَوَى ﴿6﴾ | while he was in the highest horizon; (7) | | وَهُوَ بِالْأُفُقِ الْأَعْلَى ﴿7﴾ | then he drew near, and became close (8) | | ثُمَّ دَنَا فَتَدَلَّى ﴿8﴾ | he was but two bows' length or even nearer, (9) | | فَكَانَ قَابَ قَوْسَيْنِ أَوْ أَدْنَى ﴿9﴾ | so (allah) revealed to his worshiper (gabriel) that which he revealed (to prophet muhammad). (10) | | فَأَوْحَى إِلَى عَبْدِهِ مَا أَوْحَى ﴿10﴾ |
