| | | In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful | | بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرَّحِيمِ | noon. by the pen and that (the angels) write, (1) | | ن وَالْقَلَمِ وَمَا يَسْطُرُونَ ﴿1﴾ | you are not, because of the favor of your lord, mad. (2) | | مَا أَنتَ بِنِعْمَةِ رَبِّكَ بِمَجْنُونٍ ﴿2﴾ | indeed, there is an unfailing wage for you. (3) | | وَإِنَّ لَكَ لَأَجْرًا غَيْرَ مَمْنُونٍ ﴿3﴾ | surely, you (prophet muhammad) are of a great morality. (4) | | وَإِنَّكَ لَعَلى خُلُقٍ عَظِيمٍ ﴿4﴾ | you shall see and they will see (5) | | فَسَتُبْصِرُ وَيُبْصِرُونَ ﴿5﴾ | which of you is the demented. (6) | | بِأَييِّكُمُ الْمَفْتُونُ ﴿6﴾ | indeed, your lord knows very well those who strayed from his path, and those who are guided. (7) | | إِنَّ رَبَّكَ هُوَ أَعْلَمُ بِمَن ضَلَّ عَن سَبِيلِهِ وَهُوَ أَعْلَمُ بِالْمُهْتَدِينَ ﴿7﴾ | therefore, do not obey those who belie, (8) | | فَلَا تُطِعِ الْمُكَذِّبِينَ ﴿8﴾ | they wish you would compromise, then, they would compromise. (9) | | وَدُّوا لَوْ تُدْهِنُ فَيُدْهِنُونَ ﴿9﴾ | and do not obey every mean swearer, (10) | | وَلَا تُطِعْ كُلَّ حَلَّافٍ مَّهِينٍ ﴿10﴾ |
